Kirkus Review:
In the autobiography, FIGHTS WORTH FIGHTING: Finding Strength in Struggle, author Dolph Lundgren is accompanied by two narrators who periodically portray significant figures in his life. Storyteller Rick Adamson recreates various people, offering a lesson in performing “nonfiction” characters. First and foremost, Adamson’s characters are wholly connected to the need to convey what’s most salient about their emotional relationships with Lundgren (the “stakes”). That said, Adamson consistently respects this fundamental nonfiction performance directive: the author’s “story” always supersedes the creation of dimensional characters. By imbuing each personality with enough vocal subtlety to distinguish them, Adamson’s committed performance steadfastly supports, rather than distracts from, the author’s story.
I am forever grateful to my clients, agents, managers and publishers.
